Session 5 - Assignment One Question

MS Access applications developed for your business are the perfect solution for many small to mid-sized database needs. Whether you are looking to create a new Microsoft Access application, upgrade, or modify an existing MS Access application, System database architects can show you how your business can get the most out of this powerful Microsoft application. Easy-to-maintain, if there are two basic principles behind relation database design. The first principle is that duplicate information is bad. It wastes space and increase the likelihood of error and inconsistencies. The second principle is that the correctness and completeness of information is important. If our database contains incorrect information, any reports that pull information from the database will also contain incorrect information. MS Access can help us to solve this problem. For example, “Customer Name”, if we duplicate a customer name in system we cannot to calculate the correct Sales turnover, accounting report will also contain incorrect information. Therefore, we can fix a system to automatic assign a customer code for each customer name to avoid duplicate data in database system. And, MS Access can help us to consist of one or more record. It’s also possible for a table to be empty (i.e. order processing, customer name, model no., customer P/O no., and order quantity….etc.) Each record is made up of fields or data elements. The fields contain whatever properties or characteristics you want to store in each record. Also, we can used for selecting to view records, used for data input to display, used for formatting, calculating, printing, summarizing data...

  1. Our small database has two tables - for Products and Suppliers. This shows that our data has been organized by Subject, because each table is only concerned with one subject.

The foreign key "Supplier Number" allows us to link or comine related records from the two tables.
